this cover redesign for F. Scott Fitzgerald's "The Great Gatsby" was done during a personal project, where I picked my favorite books for each decade of the 20th century and developed a new perspective for them in a 24h timeframe.
the front cover's goal is to show Gatsby's flashy, over enthusiastic, bon-vivant persona, which is the one you're first introduced to while learning about his character in Fitzgerald's book.
the back cover shows another side of the main character, portraying his longing for his lost love and the very symbolic green light that represents Daisy Buchanan.
